The world is progressing, culture is developing, and the field of music is no exception.

Over the past century, Chinese folk music has rapidly evolved from a unison-based structure to one that incorporates polyphony, counterpoint, electronic instruments, MIDI, multimedia elements, and more. While inheriting China’s classical music culture, modern folk music simultaneously draws upon the essence of Western musical composition.

Today, the fruit of this evolution is New Folk Music, an important development in the trend of contemporary ethnic instrumental music. New Folk Music's instrumentation absorbs western orchestral instruments, the organic elements of nature and the digital effects of the electronic synthesizer.

Eastern Phantasia is dedicated to the dissemination of New Folk Music and aims to popularize this elegant style of music. The ensemble’s stylistic fluidity carries through performances of traditional Chinese folk music, western classical music, pop music, jazz, hip-hop, and more. The group also combines dance, body language, beautiful costumes, pop songs, and so on, filling each musical performance with youthful vitality.
